WEEK SIX

This week I have continued to work on the Pearce Project. I have continued to spec materials and furnishings. Along with continuing to spec items, I have been fine tuning selections of these things and have been researching what materials may be best for certain applications. For example, In the master wet room the client has specified that she does not want grout lines, so all tile is out of the question, In response to this I have been looking into what material will be durable, waterproof, and can be installed with no grout. I have found that Cosentino’s Dekton line will be the best solution for this. I have been in contact with my Cosentino sales rep to learn more details and she has given me all pricing and installation information. I have also been adding more detail and ultimately functionality into my design. For example, I have re-designed the cabinetry in the laundry room to be more functional to daily use by raising the all-in-one washer/dryer that the client has requested and adding a hamper drawer as well as a pull out shelf to easily pull clean laundry into.

I have also been strategizing ways to most effectively manage as a team lead. I have come up with a few processes to streamline our design process as well as created a way to collaborate on mood boards using Pinterest shared boards. We have started to put these processes into action and they have been working well so far.
